The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has developed an investigation to clarify the temporary abandonment of two children in Mula, which has resulted in the arrest of their parents as alleged perpetrators of crimes against family rights and duties.

The proceedings began when the Civil Guard was alerted, through the Social Services of the Commonwealth of the Mula River, of the alleged temporary abandonment of two children, brothers and five and seven years of age, by their parents.

In the notice he reported that the children appeared to be alone all morning inside their home in Mula.

At the time of the events, he was also alerted that one of the children could be suffering from an anxiety attack due to the prolonged absence of their parents at home, indicating that it was not the first time that the parents were absent from the home and left to minors alone inside for hours.

After verifying the facts, all possible steps were taken to locate and inform both parents, but it was not possible to locate them.

At the same time and after verifying that the children had not yet eaten any food, about midday they decided to transfer them to the summer school canteen installed in a local school.

From the investigation carried out, it is clear that previously there had been several events of similar characteristics and that they evidenced the repetition of the parents in the temporary abandonment of their children, dating similar incidents that have occurred since 2015 in which risk situations for the children would be credibly credited. minors caused directly by the attitude of their parents.

In the first fact of this type found the minors would be only one and four years old.

The indications obtained have made it possible to verify that the victims of these events are two especially vulnerable minors given their young age and the palmarious situation of risk and helplessness, so that in order to guarantee the rights they attend to minors and, at At the same time, to reduce the risk factors and social difficulties that could affect their personal and social situation, the minors have eventually been referred to the Child Protection Service under the Department of Equality, Health and Social Policies of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia (CARM).

After verifying the repeated negligent behavior of the parents, marked by the simultaneous absence of both from the family home, the Civil Guard has proceeded to arrest him as alleged perpetrators of a continuing crime against family rights and duties (abandonment of minors).

During the investigation, the Benemérita has had the collaboration of the Social Services and Local Police of Mula

The Bolivian detainees, 33 and 38 years of age and residents in Mula and the proceedings taken have been made available to the Court of Instruction of Mula and the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office of Murcia.
