The Federation of Teaching Workers Commissions (FECCOO) Region of Murcia requires the Ministry of Education to incorporate a full-time Technical Technical Assistant (ATE) in this IES Ribera de los Molinos and IES Ortega y Rubio , both located in the town of Mula, in order to adequately serve students with special educational needs.
CCOO Teaching regrets that the Ministry of Education has chosen to share between the two institutes this specialist, who is forced to move five times from one place to another throughout his working day, leaving his tasks neglected for a certain period of time with students who require special attention, in addition to generating stress to the worker himself, who wishes to perform his work in the best possible way.
With the hiring of an itinerant position between the two educational centers, the Administration continues to show its commitment to the labor instability of this highly essential group for normal educational development instead of reducing the high percentage of interinity, while denigrating education public as reflected in his lack of interest in helping students with special needs in the Region of Murcia.
"The worker has been making five trips of more than one kilometer per day for three years, which prevents him from devoting even half of his day to the attention of students in each of the centers," said Isidoro Fortuna, head of PAS -PSEC of FECCOO RM.
Therefore, CCOO Enseñanza asks the Ministry of Education to provide a full-time ATE from now on in two institutes to reverse an unsustainable situation for both students and the worker, and urges the Ministry of Finance to open imminent way an extraordinary bag to correct the lack of ATEs in the centers and with uniformity of criteria for their selection, which allows to enhance quality care for students with educational needs and, also, to end the precarious employment situation of this collective.
