The Civil Guard clarifies the forest fire and burned more than two hectares of land (11/05/2016)

The Civil Guard in the region of Murcia has developed the operation 'PRUNING' to clarify the causes of the fire last March 3 swept over two hectares of bushes and reed bed in the MULENA hamlet of Yéchar, which has resulted in a person investigated which would have instructed proceedings on suspicion of crime of forest fire by gross negligence.

The action began when the Civil Guard was alerted to the fire at the Rambla del Moro place located in the municipality of Yéchar-Mule, for two hours, calcined an area of ​​two hectares and a half of shrubs and reeds.

Rushed to the scene of the Civil Guard patrols, fire crews, members of Local Police Mula, a tanker truck and helicopter transport brigade 1-1-2.

Once extinguished, specialists Nature Protection Service (SEPRONA) of the Civil Guard began research work to identify, in the first instance, the origin of the fire and the cause of its spread

The technical-ocular inspection made on the ground has allowed locating the focus of ignition in a burning prunings performed a few meters from the area cremated.

Researchers have found that in a farm near the site, planted with fruit trees, work had been carried burning prunings for what the company had administrative authorization.

The Civil Guard has found that these tasks were given by completed around 14.00 hours, although total extinction so the fire spread to the bushes and the hurdle of the promenade is not guaranteed.

Operation 'PRUNING' has culminated in the identification of a person responsible for agricultural burning, which will have instructed proceedings on suspicion of crime of forest fire by gross negligence.

The proceedings initiated have been made available to the Court of Instruction No. 2 of Mula (Murcia).

SEPRONA latest research for the crime of forest fire

Meritorious appeals to public awareness and reiterates the need to take appropriate security measures to prevent forest fires and especially in those farmhands who, because of their proximity to sensitive areas, can cause forest fires, maintaining, in any case, a strip firewall around the point of burning to prevent the accidental spread of fire.
