The municipal group of Citizens defends today in the Plenary the creation of a program of support and educational reinforcement in the districts "that try to offer resources and actions for those students who do not have them in their family and social environment, and who need as a means to reduce the levels of failure and dropout ", as explained by his spokesman, Toi Salcedo.
This program of support and reinforcement, that Cs Mula contemplated in its electoral program, "has the purpose of compensating the existing inequalities in the access to the educational resources after school hours and the problems that the residents in the districts could have in order to access the same ones, avoiding for example displacements of up to 20 kilometers a day ".
Salcedo believes that the districts "are the great forgotten of the municipality.
To the remoteness that its inhabitants feel with the City Council and its government team is added the danger of depopulation and the displacement of students and their families. "
Citizens thus reinforces their commitment and responsibility to raise the levels of equity and equality of opportunities, "that is, offer the necessary resources so that all students, regardless of their personal, social, cultural, economic or any other nature, achieve the integral development of all its potentialities and ensure a school success based on their capabilities, "said the orange spokeswoman.
Recycling machines with incentives
In addition to this proposal, Ciudadanos Mula presents to the Plenary today a motion for the City to install in the municipality recycling machines with incentives, a mechanism known as 'reverse vending', to raise awareness and promote the importance of recycling.
The 'reverse vending' consists of the existence of machines for depositing containers, with the same appearance as vending machines, "where the neighbors who deposit these containers obtain incentives, in this case discounts that they receive directly and instantaneously when they recycle, or amounts in cash.
It is a recycling system that is already applied in many European countries and in which special attention is paid to the management of lightweight waste, such as plastic, metal and brick containers, "Salcedo added.
