The Mayor of Mula, Diego Cervantes, assumes the presidency of the Commonwealth of River Mula (16/09/2010)

Currently the Commonwealth of the River serves more than 35,000 people from the municipalities of Albudeite, Bullas, Mula and Pliego

09/16/1910 Mayor Mula, Diego Cervantes, and Mayor Albudeite, Joaquin Martinez, have welcomed today the president and vice president respectively of the Commonwealth of Social Services Mula River receiving the baton from Mayor Bullas, Esteban Egea, and the Mayor of Pliego, Isabel Toledo.

The act of transfer of charge has been framed in the celebration of an extraordinary plenary session.

The Commonwealth of Social Services Mula River is formed by the union of municipalities of Albudeite, Bullas, Mula and Pliego.

These councils have been working 20 years in joint efforts with regional and state administrations to meet the social needs of citizens in the area, especially the most vulnerable: the elderly, dependent children, people at risk of exclusion ...

Currently the Commonwealth Mula River has two centers: the Primary Care Social Services that serves the entire population of the four municipalities (34,837 people according to the official census), and Early Intervention treatment provided to children with development difficulties, from 0 to 6 years (200 this year) and various programs among which the Prevention of Drug Addiction, the Integration of Immigrants, the Assistance to Families with children at risk and Social Inclusion.

Among the various services provided by municipalities across the Commonwealth, the 640 include dependents to pay them: home help service (250), tele (360), food at home (26) and respite care (4).

Also, since the entry into force of the Law for Promotion of personal autonomy and care for dependent persons (Law 39/2006 of 14 December) to date have been processed 2 702 applications for dependents ratings , of which 1,196 received financial assistance for a family to care for them at home, 337 have telecare, 51 attend day care centers, 16 are treated in nursing homes.

One effect of the economic crisis has been to increase the number of people at risk of social exclusion, so that in the past year have strengthened programs such as food distribution in collaboration with Red Cross and job placement in that are built today 21 people.

In the year 2010, the State Fund's contribution to employment and sustainability has allowed local municipalities to maintain services through the Commonwealth provided to citizens.
