Youth facilitate the integration of disadvantaged groups at risk of exclusion Mula activities that favor their insertion (22/01/2014)

A group of five young people at risk of social exclusion Mula developed throughout this year in the town the Abraham Project, which aims to revitalize disadvantaged children and adolescents in activities to promote social inclusion of groups at risk of social exclusion .

This youth initiative, promoted by the National Association Project Abraham and framed in the European Youth in Action program, with the collaboration of the Ministry of Presidency and the support of the City of Mula.

The general director of the Prevention of Domestic Violence, Youth, Legal Protection and Juvenile Court, Veronica Lopez, and Mayor of Mula, José Iborra, today attended the presentation of actions to be carried for nine months as part of that project, in particular in the area of ​​High Street and the town Puntarrón.

With the Abraham Project, the demands of the young population of the district will be resolved, a real integration between people from different groups will be achieved, from different countries, religions and cultures through sport, and the relationship between people of different ages will be encouraged especially among young people and senior citizens.

The process of personal growth and maturity of the young participants will also support and expand knowledge about Europe.

The director general said that the project "shows the younger population and other realities are given the opportunity to learn and grow as people, while improving their neighborhood and the lives of those living in it."

Activities

The calendar of activities includes the development of different activities to expand the skills and knowledge of participants in different fields.

Thus, the project begins with a series of preparatory activities, such as workshops, teamwork skills, awareness and recycling and Europe, to continue training workshops.

Interested parties may participate in a workshop of aesthetics, which, guided by an expert monitoring practice, acquire basic knowledge about hairdressing, makeup and manicure.

The workshop will consist of 40 hours and will go to a group of eight people.

Audiovisual workshop in which basic knowledge of recording, video editing and journalism purchased to finally develop an audiovisual document will also be conducted.

The course with 40 hours, to a maximum of seven assistants afternoon sessions will be held during the months of February to May.

During the months of July and August renovation work will be undertaken in recreational and sports area of ​​the High Street in particular on tracks designed soccer and bocce and a playground.

The team will consist of youth and volunteers who make use of these facilities throughout the year, under the coordination of an expert on the subject.

On August 15, the big day of celebration of the feast of the neighborhood, will be a day of living among the residents of the High Street, where sports activities are held with residents of other districts of the municipality.

In addition to youth at risk of social exclusion, participation will be expanded in the various activities organized for families, friends and the general population of the neighborhood.

Support for vulnerable groups to social exclusion

The Abraham Project National Association is a non-governmental organization supporting immigrants, children and people at risk and / or social exclusion.

Since 1996, operates mainly in the region with the main objective of social and environmental action.

For this, various programs developed socio-labor care, housing, education, socio-occupational (cobbler shops, sewing, computer and audiovisual), leisure time, awareness, development cooperation and care of children.
