The Ministry of Public Works will improve road safety between Los Banos and El Niño de Mula with removing obstacles lineside (11/02/2016)

The Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructure, through the Directorate General of Highways, will improve the security of autonomic RM-516, which connects the muleñas districts of Los Banos and El Niño de Mula, by removing obstacles and protecting side of the track.

As determined by the road safety audit it has been performed over the entire length of the road, which has analyzed the 8.6 kilometers of the road and its environment, the same infrastructure, the accidents, the traffic study and road safety, while collecting a series of proposals for actions to be developed in the RM-516.

This study establishes a series of actions and priorities to run on track in order to increase the safety of the more than 7,600 daily vehicles on the road.

The Director of Roads, Jose Antonio Fernandez said that "the first of the actions that will develop the highest priority setting auditing and involves the removal and protection of the side obstacles such as trees, walls, fences and slopes pronounced side. "

Fernandez explained that "a high percentage of road accidents occur along the side, because, at any given time, drivers lose control of the vehicle, get out of the road, moving towards the ends of the tracks, and collide with any object or dumped in depressions ".

This project, valued at 43,847 euros, entail the elimination of the 59 units in the large trees, due to the danger they pose to the driver upon exit of the road, responding to a demand MULENA society;

and protection of buildings, walls and partitions and improving the adjacent road embankments.
