The Director General of Planning, Evaluation and Environmental Control, Francisco Espejo, today presented the City of Mula-vacuum sweeper vehicle for cleaning streets and gardens, valued at 122,000 euros, financed by the Cohesion Fund of the European Union.
Mirror also participated, along with the mayor of Mula, Diego Cervantes, in the presentation of the campaign to collect used cooking oil, for which 16 containers have been installed in this town and its districts, especially in educational and social as well as supermarkets and institutional buildings.
The general director encouraged Mula neighbors to recycle used cooking oil because it is a highly polluting waste, if managed properly, can be transformed into energy by producing biodiesel. "
The first campaign to promote the collection of such waste in the town began in 2008 with the installation of ten containers.
Since then they have collected a total of 1,185 liters in Mula.
The expansion includes new campaign the number of containers, as well as raising awareness among citizens through the municipal website and the distribution of leaflets.
