The health center of Mula is scheduled for Wednesday, June 13, the first appointments of the gynecological consultation service, as announced today by the Minister of Health, Manuel Villegas, during his visit to the center.
A specialist of the staff of the university hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca will perform this assistance once a week.
The resumption of the gynecological service in Mula will prevent some 10,000 women over 15 years of age from the municipality and from Albudeite, Campos del Río and Pliego having to travel to other parts of the Region to be attended.
The center is equipped with the necessary equipment and materials to carry out the actions contemplated in the Comprehensive Care Program for Women, such as gynecological cancer prevention, climacteric care, and information and monitoring of contraceptive methods.
The Arrixaca Maternal-Fetal Unit will continue to provide obstetric care for pregnant women.
The health center of Mula depends on the health area of ​​the Arrixaca.
The gynecology service joins the existing family medicine, pediatrics, nursing, conventional radiology, physiotherapy, sample collection, oral health unit, midwife and mental health that currently provides.
The staff consists of 34 professionals including family doctors, pediatricians, nurses, dental hygienists, administrative assistants, pharmacy assistants, physiotherapist, midwife and dentist.
