The commercialization of the citrus and fruit cooperatives of the Region of Murcia has increased its production by 10 percent on average and during this year, companies such as the Fruits and Citrus Fruit cooperative (Frucimu) have reached 40 million kilos, maintaining the billing figure.
The Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Miguel Ángel del Amor, visited the cooperative, accompanied by the Mayor of Mula, Juan Jesús Moreno, and by the General Director of Innovation, Productions and Agrifood Markets, Fulgencio Pérez.
Frucimu, which has a commercialized production of 14 million euros, is composed of 712 members from all points of the Region of Murcia.
Del Amor pointed out that "it adds more than 2,600 cultivated hectares, such as lemon, orange, tangerine and grapefruit, and stone fruits".
Also, the Minister stressed that "it is situated as a benchmark in the Murcian agricultural sector, managing to generate more than 600 jobs".
During the visit, Del Amor also stressed that "from the regional government is working to bring the Murcia region brand by international territories, and this company has become an economic reference generating millions of kilos of citrus fruits and stone fruits to countries of the five continents. "
