The urgent actions are those indicated in the Master Plan that the Ministry of Culture supports and has handed over to the City Council so that it becomes the road map for the recovery of the monument
The Community, through the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, will perform emergency works in the Mula Castle aimed at consolidating the wall of this emblematic construction of the sixteenth century, declared a Site of Cultural Interest, which in the last two almost 390,000 euros have been earmarked for regional budgets.
In the new actions a total of 189,479 euros will be invested (96,433 euros for the direct execution of part of the works and a new subsidy for the town hall of 93,046 euros).
An amount that adds to the 199.888 euros budgeted in 2017 by the Community and that allowed, among other actions, to carry out the Master Plan of the Mula Castle, which is the road map for its recovery.
The Master Plan, recently delivered to the Town Hall of Mula, is the essential tool for any future action of conservation and enhancement of this Renaissance castle of great value and importance within the fortifications of the national territory.
It is also the benchmark for any intervention by the central government within the framework of the National Plan of Fortifications of the Institute of Cultural Heritage of Spain.

In addition, this document marks the actions of an urgent nature that are planned to be carried out soon and that will guarantee security in some sectors of the fortified area.
In this regard, the section of the wall that is located on the northeast side of the Albacar site, at its eastern end, is a priority.
It is a steep slope, dominated by limestone rocks and loamy soils that intermingle generating a very fragmentary type of surface and in which rock breakage and the washing of the marly grass are common, to which is added the type of slope that dominates on the outside of the wall.
So that there is an almost vertical terrain that weakens the general situation of the conserved wall canvases.
Once the damages have been identified, the emergency works, which will be carried out by the General Directorate of Cultural Assets, are aimed at reversing the danger of collapse and detachment of parts of the calicostrada earth walls, as well as to minimize the future deterioration of the wall. .
In particular, the support terrain of the section of the wall and the filling of gullies will be made to improve the support surface lost today.
Likewise, the consolidation of displaced and fractured wall canvases will be carried out, which will be done by sewing with mechanical means and reconnection with execution of joint walls, for which the original factories will be maintained with their coverings, avoid refunds and make the joints with compatible textural and chromatic treatment and with the originals.
With the superior treatment of the wall canvas to avoid washing by atmospheric agents and improve the connection of the whole, the improvement of the rainwater evacuation system, guaranteeing its adequate integration in the set, and the cleaning of the vegetation of the site will be completed. planned actions.
