Tońi Salcedo: "The important deficiencies that have several centers of Mula, Yéchar and Fuente Librilla shows that the Ministry of Education has forgotten the municipality"
Citizens has denounced the "multiple deficiencies" presented by several schools in the municipality of Mula, which are poorly heated, which is causing serious problems to students and workers in the center by the low temperatures that are recorded inside.
This situation is particularly worrisome in the CEIP Anita Arnao de Mula and in the CEIP La Purísima de Yechar, whose temperatures are between 11 and 13 degrees.
Juan José Molina, regional deputy of Citizens, has indicated that the students and professors of the CEIP Anita Arnao are supporting temperatures of about 12 degrees, because the number of radiators is insufficient and the lack of electrical power.
"In addition, the insulation is very poor because the windows are metallic and have many years, which some of them are damaged, which means that the little heat radiators do not reach the classrooms because they are located below the windows. "
In this sense, Molina regretted that the regional government has neglected this center, despite the fact that Citizens allocated five million euros in the 2017 budget and six million euros in 2018 for the air conditioning of the educational centers of the Region, to which are added another six million euros contributed by the orange training in the budgets of 2019. "Maybe the regional government will not do anything because they have decided that during this winter students and teachers endure the low temperatures as they can , and that they will act later, but if that were the case, we remind them that in the hot months the students of this center have to endure very high temperatures since the number of air conditioners is insufficient ".
With regard to CEIP La Purísima de Yéchar, Molina pointed out that more than fifteen days ago there was a break in the boiler, which has caused students and teachers to endure temperatures between 11 and 13 degrees, since The insulation is deficient because several windows are damaged and can not be closed properly.
"The problem is that the installation is so obsolete that they can not find the part that is needed because the boiler is propane, so an urgent reform is needed instead of putting a patch.
Also in summer the center reaches very high temperatures that are totally incompatible with the teaching activity.
We do not understand the negligence of the regional government, but from Citizens we have very clear that if from May we have government responsibilities, the air conditioning of schools will be one of our priorities. "
Completely forgotten
On the other hand, Tońi Salcedo, spokesperson of Citizens in the City council of Mula, has indicated that the regional Government "has completely forgotten to the educational centers of the municipality.
The cases of the CEIP Anita Arnao and La Purisima demonstrate an enormous irresponsibility on the part of the Ministry of Education, but they are not the only ones that need urgent actions, since the students of the IES Ortega and Rubio have that are further away from the boiler have to withstand extremely low temperatures, aggravated by the zero insulation of the windows of a center more than 50 years old.
In addition, in summer the temperatures of the interior of the classrooms are very high since the center only has air conditioning in the library, the teachers' room and the assembly hall ".
Also, Salcedo has highlighted the need to prepare the CEIP Our Lady of the Rosary Fuente Librilla because due to its age, the heat does not reach all the classrooms, which adds a deficient insulation that leads to a heat escape and the entrance of air.
"To this it is added that the students can not fight the heat in summer because if they open the windows the classrooms are filled with flies.
It is true that the center has received an economic allowance to install the air conditioning, but has not adapted the electric power so that it works, a problem that we hope can be solved before the high temperatures arrive. "
The spokesperson for Ciudadanos en Mula has also highlighted the need for a part of the patio of the CEIP Santo Domingo and San Miguel to be roofed so that students can exercise in better conditions.
"In addition, the center lacks air conditioning in some classrooms."
