The Project aims to initiate and promote in the municipality of Mula the separate collection of organic matter (bio-waste) and its biological treatment through domestic composting in order to increase the recycling of municipal waste and reduce the amount of waste destined for landfill with the consequent reduction of GHG emissions associated with its landfill deposit.
To do this, the City Council of Mula, through the Department of Environment, will deliver free of charge the necessary material to make domestic composting to 80 families of Mula.
The requirement to participate is to have an orchard of at least 50m2 and be from the municipality of Mula.
The material consisting of a composter, bucket, aerator and thermometer will serve to be able to start the composting process in the homes from the bio-waste generated in them, likewise, the participants will receive a manual, training in the process and advice for Make a quality compost and use it in your garden or garden.
The resulting compost can be analyzed to guarantee the quality of the product obtained and the use of it will be informed.
The benefits are for the environment as we prevent waste from ending inappropriately, proposing to close the organic matter cycle.
In addition, you can fertilize plants and soil naturally.
And for the neighbor who participates in the Project, since it obtains a quality organic fertilizer, which will improve its plants, and will generate an increase in soil productivity where it is provided;
In addition, the economic benefit obtained by reducing the purchase of chemical fertilizers and replacing them with the compost prepared must be considered.
