The civil guard intercepts an important shipment of marijuana buds bound for the Netherlands (11/03/2020)

They allegedly introduced the drug into a perfect double bottom under the refrigeration system of a semi-trailer, which was to transport a legal load of oranges bound for the Netherlands

The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, within the framework of the 'Dositea' operation, has thwarted in Mula the illegal traffic of more than 70 kilos of marijuana buds that were destined for the Netherlands.

During this first action, in addition to discovering an elaborate double bottom and seizing the drug, the Benemérita has arrested two men as alleged perpetrators of drug trafficking and has seized the means used in the illicit activity clarified.

The proceedings began on February 29, when civil guards of the Organized Crime and Anti-Drug Team detected that an important shipment of marijuana was being prepared from Murcia to an undetermined place in central Europe, for which a charge was to be used legal from Spain to the Netherlands, where it was intended to camouflage the hidden drug among the goods transported.

Although the data that were initially not very specific, a device was established in order to intercept the shipment of the drug.

The civil guards established a surveillance in a service station next to the RM-15 highway, which links Murcia with Caravaca de la Cruz, where it was presumed that the meeting between the truck with the legal merchandise and the shipping managers would be held , intuiting that the drug was going to be introduced in that place.

After several hours of waiting, the device paid off and the researchers directly observed the arrival of an articulated vehicle, a truck with a semi-trailer, which drew attention because the tractor head plates and those of the trailed semi-trailer did not match, what was marked as the truck that was going to carry out the transport.

Shortly after, the suspicions were concretized when detecting the arrival of a second vehicle that approached the truck and instructed its driver to follow him.

The truck and its guide took direction to Mula, followed at all times by the civil guards that made up the operation.

The latter verified how the cargo vehicle was introduced in one of the warehouses of the industrial estate El Arreaque de Mula, where it remained hidden for more than an hour.

The Civil Guard intercepted the truck at the exit of the industrial building and examined both the vehicle and the property.

In the ship, which presented an aspect of semi-abandonment, a man was found who was subsequently arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health, for drug trafficking, since he allegedly hid the drug in a double transport fund.

After an exhaustive examination of the premises, large bags were located where moments before the packages had been transported under vacuum with the buds of marijuana.

At the same time, other researchers inspected the interior of the semi-trailer box, which, to its initial surprise, was unloaded except for a few wooden pallets.

The agents continued with the exhaustive search for the drug and, after dismantling the semi-trailer's cooling system, located a "double bottom" and inside it were 65 vacuum packed packages, which contained a gross quantity of more than 70 kilograms of buds of marijuana.

Before the finding, the researchers arrested the truck driver, as well as the person who was currently in charge of the industrial building.

The marijuana was also apprehended and the transport where it was hidden was seized.

The detainees, the apprehended drug, the recovered effects and the proceedings taken have been made available to the Court of Instruction of Mula (Murcia).
