| The municipality has some of the most outstanding remains of rock art, including the Abrigo del Milano or the Cueva de Justo | The municipality of Mula joins the commemoration of the European Rock Art Day with the placement of a banner from the balcony of the Town Hall.The mayor of Mula, Juan Jesús Moreno, and the Councilor for Culture and Historical Heritage, Diego Boluda, displayed a large banner in honor of this day as one of the eleven Murcian municipalities with one of the most outstanding vestiges of cave art, including the Abrigo del Milano or the last one discovered just a few years ago, the Cueva de Justo, and with incalculable historical value.Mula also participated in the central act of the European Rock Art Day that was celebrated in the Government Delegation and where the municipalities met with a prominent exponent in rock art in the Region of Murcia to highlight the cultural, historical and tourist importance of the rock art.Juan Jesús Moreno highlighted that “Mula has an exceptional cave heritage such as the Abrigo del Milano, named by UNESCO as Cultural Heritage, as well as the paintings of the Cejo Cortado or those recently located in the Cueva de Justo.
All this exponential shows that both Mula and its districts have these historical vestiges of great value on which we will continue to bet on their conservation and value ”.This Saturday the activities for the European Rock Art Day continue with the celebration of an institutional act in Calasparra where Mula, along with the rest of the municipalities with rock art, will receive a commemorative plaque for continuing to value these resources, a sign of the passage of ancient civilizations .
