| The Municipal Library of Mula achieves a very significant increase in users between 2019 and 2020 | The Councilor for Culture and Historical Heritage, Diego Boluda, released the statistics of the Municipal Library of Mula and the study rooms corresponding to the last period. In the last year and a half, an impressive 27,697 users have passed through the municipal facilities served by the Municipal Library.
These data show that these dependencies are one of the most used in the municipality. In the same period, the study rooms of both the Library and the 24-hour room of the San Francisco convent have been used up to 22,196 times, very positive figures, despite the fact that they were closed for several weeks. During the same period of time, around 190 new adult readers have registered in the Library and around 210 new children's readers. Regarding the loan service, 4150 have been the loans of books for adults that have been made and 1642 among the children public. This statistic has been taken as of December 2020.
The pandemic has greatly limited the carrying out of activities that were planned, such as storytelling, talks or the animation workshop for reading, among others.
. The Municipal Archivist, Antonio Gabarr n, has expressed that “these data cause great satisfaction.
These are results that tell us that citizens see a good space in this public cultural service ”. On the other hand, the Councilor for Culture, Diego Boluda, stated that “from the Councilor for Culture, we are making a large investment in the renewal of the book catalog, both for adults and children, improving the service of study rooms, as well as working and preparing different activities to promote reading for when the epidemiological situation allows it.
Our commitment will continue to be to bet on culture and we will not settle for these results, we will continue working to improve and perfect the library for our citizens.
