Lorca confirms the authenticity of the documentation that speaks of the Holy Thorn of the Poor Clares of Mula]
The Bishop of Cartagena confirms the authenticity of the documents and inviolability of the seal sealed teak containing the relic of the Holy Thorn, the Clarisas Mothers are at the Royal Monastery of Our Lady of the Incarnation of Mula.
This was stated by Bishop Lorca during his meeting Tuesday morning with Mayor Mula, Juan Jesus Moreno.;
the Councillor of Presidency and Tourism, Francisca Imbernón;
and the prioress of St. Clare, Maria del Carmen Parras, accompanied by another religious community.
During the visit, Msgr. Lorca explained that several documents of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries in which their predecessors speak of the Holy Thorn possessing the Poor Clares as one of those who formed the crown with which they martyred Jesus Christ during his passion, relic which also appears in an inventory that took place in the monastery in 1748.
