The deputy, Jesús Navarro, and the mayor, Juan Jesús Moreno, met with the Platform in defense of the Castle to analyze the situation and demand that the Community comply with the mandate of the Assembly and to contribute the budget line scheduled for 2016

The deputy of the Socialist Parliamentary Group, Jesús Navarro, met with the mayor of Mula, Juan Jesus Moreno with the Platform for the Castle of Mula to analyze the current situation of the same, as well as the breaches of the Autonomous Community.

Navarro denounced that the Municipality of Mula has not yet received the departure of more than 160,000 euros that was approved in the regional budgets for 2016, to elaborate the Master Plan and to carry out the most urgent actions that stop the deterioration that suffers from this emblematic building .

"We do not understand the inaction of the Ministry to open the sanctioning file that has not reached many of the owners of the Castle, and we also do not know if any agreement has been reached between the Community and owners for the assignment or purchase thereof."

The Socialist deputy alluded to the motion that was unanimously approved in the Regional Assembly for the recovery of the Castle and claimed that if an agreement is not reached with the owners, a process of expropriation is initiated so that the Castle becomes public ownership.

"While the regional government does nothing, the Castle of Mula continues to deteriorate and the danger for the inhabitants living in the vicinity is still present."

Navarro recalled the fall of a wall days past in the baths of Mula on the occasion of the rains and added that also worries to know that Mula is seismic zone and in case of earthquake could cause damages to the inhabitants if no measures are taken.

The mayor of Mula, Juan Jesús Moreno, indicated that it is "a subject that is very worrisome in this municipality and will continue to fight alongside the Platform to fulfill the mandate of the Regional Assembly."

Juan Jesus Moreno called for the union of all political forces to make effective the motion for the recovery of the Castle.

"We hope that before the end of this year, the Community will cash the money committed in budgets and can become public assets to put it in value," he concluded.
