The director general of Water, Andres Martinez, today presented to the mayor of Campos del Rio, María José Pérez, the project for the environmental recovery of the river Mula to be carried out by the City Council in its municipal term with funds from the Ministry of Water, Agriculture and Environment.
Martinez stressed that the agreement establishes the term of one year and an aid of 53,000 euros for the development of the actions.
The Mula River flows to the south of the population center of Campos del Río.
Along the channel is the space protected as a Place of Community Interest (LIC) 'Rio Mula and Pliego', with a length of approximately 40 kilometers.
This channel is crossed by rural roads that communicate with farms and the sewage treatment plant.
These rural roads cross the river Mula three steps, which require improvements in protection, signaling and cleaning, to make the crossing in safe conditions in times of rain.
In addition to the basic conservation tasks, it is envisaged, in addition to basic conservation tasks, to improve the overall improvement by means of a transverse drainage work consisting of a battery of five frames of 2.50 x 2 meters, protection of the channel with breakwater, formation of embouchures, installation of steps and Pavement improvement.
