The mayor of Mula, Diego Cervantes, accompanied by the Delegate of the Government in the Region of Murcia, Rafael González Tovar, artist Juan Jose Quiros and nephew of master sculptor José María Sánchez Lozano, Pedro Molino today presided over the presentation of the old packaging Gate Hospital, the new access to the Plaza del Hospital and the placement of the bust tribute to Sanchez Lozano, donated to the town of Mula by Juan José Quirós.
The proceedings that have been developed in this area is the reform of the small square and new access to the square of the hospital, lighting, and the improvement of the gate with doors, from this point will be open providing a greater symbolism of these dependencies .
The bust shows the image of José María Sánchez Lozano, author of many of the images in the Holy Week processions of Mula, among which the Reclining Christ, size displayed in the back of the bust and has a close relationship with the access gate to the old asylum, hospital and held until it opened its doors in 1979 the Lord of the Bed, as it is popularly known this work was exhibited at the Church of these units starring in the traditional Good Friday procession Holy through different streets of Mula.
When the image came to the door of the hospital was exposed for the rest of images made bows to Christ as they pass through this gate.
Juan José Quirós, who wanted to pay special tribute to this work to be his teacher Sánchez Lozano is also the author of the sculpture and the Nazarene Huertano Mula.
This action will complement the improvements that have had the facade, roofs, mud walls and ornamental elements of the facade of the Library and Municipal Archives, the work that has been made under the Local Investment Fund, Plan E.
