The Director General of Industry, Energy and Mines, José Francisco Puche, accompanied by the mayor of Mula, Diego Cervantes, today inaugurated the work of rural electrification made in the place of 'The Alquibla' of the municipality, which provides electricity to about than thirty farms, between farms and agro-housing, with the installation of over 12 kilometers of high and low voltage.
This work has involved an investment of close to 146,000 euros from the Ministry of Universities and Research Company and has been divided into two phases.
In the first one was installed 3.5 km of high voltage line and 6.2 kilometers of low voltage, to supply 22 farms.
The second and final phase involved the installation of more than two kilometers of high voltage and low voltage 880 meters, of which eight other farms benefit more.
The aim of the launch of this new facility is "to increase the competitiveness of farms who work in this area and provide the necessary power to homes and farms, thus helping to improve the quality of life residents and allow the modernization of farms, "said Puche.
This initiative of the Ministry of Universities, Business and Research, part of the Rural Electrification Program in the Region of Murcia 2007-2013, managed by the Directorate General of Industry, Energy and Mines, contributes to the expansion of infrastructure that support structures the provision of essential services throughout the regional signal, especially in rural areas.
Furthermore, the implementation of this type of work takes place "thanks to the collaboration between local and regional government to meet the needs of existing electrification in rural areas," he said Puche.
