The artist has made FCG Mülenen today Painted House Foundation three children's painting free workshops with 152 students aged 5 to 14 years in schools in Mula.
The work of the "young artists" will participate in the 34th edition of the contest of artistic creation of the Pinacoteca Infantil Reina Sofía, a contest that takes place in 50 countries, including Spain.
The contest, which is developed in collaboration with the Secretariat for the Forests of the United Nations (UN), has the theme 'Values ​​Forests 2011', referring to the resolution of the UN General Assembly which declared last year as International Year of Forests with the aim of raising awareness of the management, conservation and sustainable development.
Students from schools in Mula have worked this morning with FCG with watercolor, acrylic, oil, crayons, markers, inks, collage and wax in order to raise awareness of the importance of forests and its protection for present and future generations.
They have known the works of painter and sculptor making a tour of the house painted by the hand of conservative FCG's work, Julio Cesar Garcia.
The jury will meet soon in charge of assessing the work done in over 50 countries participating in the contest.
They will choose a winner and two finalists in the categories of children, between 5 and 9 years, and youth up to 15, as well as a prize in each category of a jury.
In addition, the winners will be exhibited in a show in New York and all works submitted will be included in a catalog.
The Pinacoteca Infantil Reina Sofía of FCG was established in 2002, was inaugurated by His Majesty, President of Honor of the same, being in first children's art museum with permanent headquarters in Spain.
A museum, home, custody, and study exhibits a legacy that has already reached the 50,000 works.
This collection of children's art started in 1973 from International Art Contest Amade Children-Spain.
