The Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructure, through the Directorate General of Highways, has awarded the contract to improve the RM-C2 road, which connects the muleñas districts of La Puebla de Mula and Source Librilla, the company Ferrovial-Agroman with an operating budget of 746,233 euros.
The high intensity of movement, up to 383,000 vehicles per year in this section, the deterioration of the platform and the need to improve road safety advise the rehabilitation of the road.
The action involves the resurfacing with asphalt in the 16 kilometers between the towns of La Puebla de Mula and Source Librilla and improved vertical and horizontal signaling pathway.
In particular, the works consist of cleaning, coating and profiling ditches to recover longitudinal drainage of the road, then proceed to the regularization of the firm, especially in sections where presents deformations.
It will also carry out the sanitizing of the firm in areas of torches and proceed to the widening of the platform.
Similarly, existing drainage elements will be expanded and a triple surface treatment on the firm will apply.
Finally, road markings will be painted in sidebands and vertical signaling is reset.
