Murcia The Executive has approved a grant to the City of Mula in the amount of 562,000 euros for the rehabilitation of the convent of San Francisco de Mula.
After restoration, the convent will go to cultural and social uses of the municipality.
The total budget for the restoration of the monastery amounted to 2,066,358 euros, of which 1,481,894 will be financed from the budget of one percent Cultural, 562,000 are provided by the Autonomous Community and the remaining $ 21,464 by the City Council Mula.
The Convent of San Francisco is a landmark building from the XVI to XVIII of the Franciscan Order, originally built with the help of the Council of Mula and the third Marquis of Vélez, sold off by Mendizabal in 1836.
After several ups and downs along which were built inside several homes, municipal ownership has passed.
