The first phase of the action that is unfolding in the Roman site of Villaricos Mula has completed the excavation and cleaning of the hot springs full of residential housing in this settlement.
The action performed has been of great importance as it has come to light in a good state of preservation, much of the operation of these thermal baths, one of the best preserved samples of the different sites that are located throughout the region.
The mayor of Mula, Diego Cervantes, accompanied by municipal technicians, visited the work of improvement and adaptation of the site as a future open-air museum.
Cervantes has been very pleased with the performance that has been carried out in recent weeks and it has been largely interested in the routes that follow the visitors and know the different aspects of this ancient Roman villa.
The work has uncovered a large pool of cold water have a water inlet pipe and the heating system and pool cloth with a hot water tank under the glass of the pool where the Romans did the fire distributed heat to different rooms bathroom.
It has also come to light a large space that served as entrance to the baths to receive mode, and a room that could allegedly be used for costumes.

The site of The Villaricos open its doors next May as an outdoor museum where you can visit various facilities and rooms and bathrooms, the mill or residence with its mosaics, all with different explanations of the remains informative panels designed for schoolchildren and the general public.
This project consists of two grants for its implementation: one from the Department of Fine Arts and Cultural Assets, consisting of 23,832.20 euros, and a Commonwealth Tourism Northwest of 60,000 euros.
