The Governing Council has authorized the declaration of the whole Iberian 'The Cigarralejo' in Mula, a site of cultural interest in archaeological zone category.
This set is one of the few Iberian settlements in which simultaneously documented the town, the necropolis and the sanctuary, and who has contributed one of the most important collections, both for its variety and richness of materials.
These characteristics make it a basic reference point for understanding the religious, funerary ritual, politics and economics of Iberian society.
The archaeological site, located in the hamlet of La Fuensanta Mülenen, consists of four fields.
Three of them form the Iberian period archaeological complex consisting of the Town, the Necropolis and the Sanctuary of The Cigarralero.
The latter, called Stone Plumber, is culturally and chronologically assigned Argaric period.
At the site have appeared numerous structural remains of masonry made in factories, and even there are a few rooms, as well as numerous ceramics.
As for the cemetery, have been found materials belonging to the funerary offerings of a total of 547 graves as part of a collection that is now out in the Iberian Art Museum 'The Cigarralejo' Mule.
